‘Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked, for the evil man has no future and the lamp of the wicked will be put out’ (PV 24:19, 20).

Why worry about someone who has no future? Why fret about someone who goes backwards? The wicked are part of the History of sinners; they live only in past ‘glory’! There is no hope, no light and no life for them ahead.

Each day that passes makes them more desperate and frustrated. Without light, they stumble more often and make more mistakes each day. The wicked will be found at the wrong place, doing the wrong thing always, adding regret upon another. Their covering of deception will be removed and all will see their defeat.

But for you, dear believer, each day that comes brings to you new mercies and fresh comfort from the Father. Your light will shine brighter and brighter to the perfect day of spiritual maturity. Your sufferings will become a crown, a precious reward and the hope of glory untold!

God is in charge! God is watching to see that His Word is fulfilled!
