JESUS WENT IN WHERE THE CHILD WAS (Mk 5:40)
We read Mark 5. Three desperate cases: a demoniac man, a diseased woman and a dead child. No one could have helped, except Jesus. He saved ‘the Legion’ man and changed his location: from living in the cemetery, sleeping between tombs, crazy and wild, he suddenly became normal ready to go as an evangelist. His village people were not impressed with this mighty deliverance and ‘begged’ Jesus to go away and leave them alone. They loved money more than souls, swine more than revival. Jesus answered their prayer and went back across the lake.
Immediately He arrived to the shore, many people came around pushing and pressing; a lot of noise and activity, but no faith. Then a leader came, Jairus, who knelt at His feet begging. He had two requests: ‘Please Jesus, come to my house, my daughter is dying…’ and ‘please lay Your hands on her, and she shall live!’
Jesus and Jairus were going together towards his house when suddenly Jesus stopped and looked around to see who touched Him with faith. There was this woman, bleeding for twelve years. According to the law she is unclean (Lev 15:25). The word ‘unclean’ means polluted, dangerous and useless. Who can help a woman for whom the whole world has no use? Only Jesus! She interrupts but she is healed!
Jairus finally has Jesus by his side. Was ‘the wasted’ time too long- Jairus thought? Some people came from his house weeping: ‘your daughter is dead…no need the bother the Master…’ But the Master ignored the unbelievers and said: ‘Fear not! Only Believe!’ Whose report do you believe Jairus? Against all odds he chose to believe Jesus. He drove away fear! Fear 0%! Only Believe! Nothing more than faith! Nothing less than faith! 100% faith in Christ and in His Word!
They went home against the tide of doubters, of wicked mockers and heartless, common sense, unspiritual relatives. Then ‘He went were the child was’. Jesus knows exactly where your children are at any moment. He knows where they are during the day and during the night. Jesus shut the door against the unbelievers and alone with the parents and three of His disciples, He took the girl by the hand, gently, like the mother used to wake her up every morning. Simply said, death run away thru the window as the Shepherd carried His little lamb in His arms. ‘Little girl, arise!’ Time to walk! Time for dinner! Time to rejoice!
Bring your problems to the Cross!
By His stripes we are all healed!
May your faith increase above your problems as you gaze into the face of my Lord!
Nothing is impossible for God!
The same Jesus who delivered the Gadarene; the same Jesus who healed the dying woman; the same Jesus who raised the girl from the dead, this same Jesus commanded us to pray and believe for revival in this land! We fear not! We just believe! We shall not be put to shame, for Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever! This is the Word of God! Nothing else matters!
