NO QUARRELS

“Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen…

Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful…”

(2Tim 2:14, 23, 24)

This is a strong warning to all believers and especially to the ministers of the Gospel. We are commanded not to quarrel. This command is to be applied in our private lives and during ministry. A servant of God should not quarrel. Period!

A quarrel is a verbal conflict between two antagonists. Words become weapons of hatred, anger and bitterness.  Each party insists on his own opinion. Quarrels poison and damage relationships. Most of the time the quarrels are stupid and foolish, for the arguments are about petty things. A quarrel will make you deviate from the truth into the trap of slander, gossip and godless chatter.

When the quarrel is about doctrines, revelations and religious interpretations is ‘of no value’, no profit at all. You cannot argue about the Bible and force men to believe the truth. That is the work of the Spirit of God. Quarreling about the Bible is a proof that the Holy Spirit has been grieved. The correct way to minister is to be filled with the Word and to be led by the Spirit. Be kind to your ignorant ‘enemies’. Teach them patiently. Pray that God may use you. It is a privilege to preach and teach God’s Word. In all things give glory to God!

In Christ I declare:

I forbid quarrels!

By the grace of God I shall be wise, patient, kind and loving!

I shall teach God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit!

To the glory of God!

In Jesus name

Amen!
