MY HOPE IS ALIVE

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer 29:11)

Some years ago I met this sister ‘by accident’ in one of our travels, somewhere in this world. She lives in the US. She is beautiful and educated. She has a good job. She is born again but somehow she was spiritually stagnant. She was abused sexually in her childhood. It took her many years to forgive the oppressor. She is now in her mid forties. She is not married. She attended a denominational church that did not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I told her to move on and change the church as a sign for a new beginning. She told me that all her friends are there, that it will not be easy. I left her alone to decide. About two years ago I told her to borrow a wedding dress and take some pictures. I have never seen her so happy. She was glowing in that wedding dress. We prayed that her dream to marry will come true. I did not hear from her for some time…Recently I just received a letter from her. Finally, the Holy Spirit is blowing over this beautiful daughter of Zion…Jesus is Lord!

HER LETTER
Hi Malia,
I finally decided to take your advice and change my church. As you know, I was not fed spiritually and getting frustrated. It was not easy…I prayed for a long time, not wanting to do a mistake. Last Sunday I finally moved on…
I thought I’d share with you what happened yesterday at the new church I decided to attend after going to the Revival meetings I told you about. Before going to this new church, I asked God to help me see someone I knew from the meetings I attended two weeks ago, so I wouldn’t be alone. I reached out and told a couple of people that I met there, that I would be attending their church, but no formal meeting was set up, so I wasn’t sure how it would go down and yes, I felt a little uncertain about things. End result: I saw everyone I met at the Revival meetings. They were all in this new church yesterday. K… and J… saw me and invited me to sit with them. They introduced me to the pastor and they invited me to lunch, calling me their adopted daughter. K…, a lady my age, saw me in the service and waited to find me after the service and made plans to walk with me tomorrow night around the Lake. It’s delightful she suggested walking. Another man from Revival waited for me after the service and said he was working on finding me a life group fellowship.

Wow! For such a long time I did not feel the love of God in a church like it was here… God really blessed me today, so I BELIEVE this is where He wants me to worship and to serve. These fellow Believers seem to be the real deal! There is a lot of love freely given. I appreciate their responsiveness to me. I am following Him as He leads! This is way more action than I have found in past churches all these years. I almost forgot that God is a God of miracles!
I went to the home fellowship last night. All the people were way older than me but I really felt loved and connected to the body of Christ. Funny, the sermon in the church was on spiritual orphans in the body of Christ. That has been me, but praise God new things are coming! God wants us to be IN the Body, so I am getting in! For too long I stood outside, afraid to pass thru the door…Because of past rejections I always felt ugly and lonely. But now I will trust Jesus for new things. Sending you LOVE from…
E…

MY ANSWER
I am so glad for you…I can see you happy…Move on, the door is open! Do you remember how beautiful you looked in that wedding dress? I did not forget! I still pray for you! My hope is alive…
