Dear Child of God, when you feel afraid of what other people can do to you, remember that God has ultimate control over your life. However, it is important to note that in order to expect God’s protection, you must be in God’s presence.
‘He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
In order to confidently rest in God’s shadow, you must live, you must abide constantly in His presence, you must walk in the Spirit. Practically, it means spending time with God, reading His Word, praying, doing ministry and obeying His commands.
Whether the people coming against you are terrorists or just your neighbor, remember that it is God who protects you!
‘The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’ (Psalm 118:6).
Do not worry about your enemies! If you still want to worry, then ‘worry’ about this life saving revelation: ‘is God with me or not?’ The answer to this question determines your victory of your failure!
The most important spiritual principle to overcome the fear of circumstances is this:
Safety is not found in the absence of danger, but in the presence of God!!!
“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Ps 4:8)
In every situation, there are always two stories—the story you (and even your enemies) see and the story God sees! Selah!
For example, Joseph was wrongfully accused of adultery with Potiphar’s wife. He was sent to prison. That is the story everybody knew about. But God was preparing His servant to become the prime minister thru the prison ministry. In God’s time, Joseph was vindicated and promoted supernaturally by God Himself who worked non-stop ‘behind the scenes’.
But the best example is the Crucifixion of our Lord. Herod, Pilate, the Pharisees and the devil behind them rejoiced at the sound of the hammer nailing Jesus on the Cross. They did not know that at that very moment God was manifesting the greatest story of redemption and love this universe has ever seen. The so called tragedy of the Cross became the door of righteousness and eternal life for millions of souls who believe.
When your life seems to be a major disaster; know that God has bigger plans to use your life for greater things. The story you see may not reflect the long-term story God has planned for you. Therefore, trust God, knowing that He works for good in all your circumstances, pleasant or not (Romans 8:28). Trust and praise God, for He has not yet finished with you! Rejoice, for the devil is ignorant of the greater purpose of God for you! Have faith in God! He knows his job! God never fails! God has the last say in your life! In Jesus name, Amen!
