“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways” (Deut 28:7)
This is my testimony:
I still remember the impact the Word of God had on my life when for the first time I read Deuteronomy 28. I could not believe my eyes. I said: “Lord, do You really mean to say that if I carefully and faithfully obey Your commands then You will ‘automatically’ bless me like this?” The Father said a categorically “YES!” Then I vowed to God that I will do all that is in my power to fulfill the conditions necessary for these wonderful blessings to come to me.
I had to learn to trust and obey God. It was not an easy lesson. It is a process. Just like with my Lord, I had to learn obedience from and in the midst of the things that made me suffer. Pain became my school teacher for in it I learned to obey God’s Word. Little by little, the blessings of obedience started manifesting in my life, one after the other: Divine health, blessings on my home and children, prosperity, victory in spiritual warfare, promotion, anointing, the gift of leadership, ministry and all.
Please note this: I observe religious unbelievers ‘claiming’ these blessings without any desire to know God or His Word. That is a serious mistake, a deception. These promises are for God’s children ONLY! Please listen: If you are a child of God, led by the Holy Spirit and you obey God’s commands, you shall surely experience the same blessings in your life!!! For God is not a respecter of men and His name is Forever Faithful!
The scripture above is just one of the many blessings of obedience. It refers to spiritual warfare, to victory over the enemies that will attack you. Please read it slowly, with faith and understanding. Memorize it! Trust God for its manifestation! Let’s analyze the words in Hebrew:
The Lord is Jehovah, the Covenant Keeping God, the God of Israel, the “I AM”. Please observe this: He will permit your enemies’ to rise against you’. The word ‘rise’ means to be promoted, to be established or to perform an action. God will allow your enemies to become visibly successful for a season. Their promotion will increase their pride. Then they will mock and persecute you. This is the way God has decreed to eventually destroy them. The wise inherit honor but the promotion of the fool ends in his shame (PV 3:35).
But this difficult situation will not last forever. Suddenly the tables are overturned for God shall judge the matter. Your enemies will fall and you shall rise. They shall be ‘defeated before your face’. The word ‘defeated’ means to fail, to be pushed down, to be hurt, to fall and become worse. This sudden fall is done ‘before your face’. The enemies will know that their wickedness is punished because of you. They shall know that God loves you and He now vindicates you. They made plans how to destroy you but their agreement shall not stand for God will cause confusion in their midst like it was at the tower of Babel. They shall quarrel with one another and none can settle them. They shall know no peace, except they repent of their evil and come to the Cross of Christ. The enemies of the noble man who became a king shall be killed in his presence (Lk 19:27).
“God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you’ (2Thess 1:6)
There are many examples to prove this in the Bible: God vindicates Sarah. Hagar became her mistress’. She was promoted to be ‘a wife’ but she and Ishmael had to go away by the decree of God. Then you know the story of Esther, the King, Haman and Mordecai. Or David and Saul…David, Solomon and Shimei… Ahab, Jezebel and Naboth…all these stories point to Jesus and His total victory over the devil. Trust God! The battle is not really yours, but God’s! All the glory belongs to the King of kings! Amen!
In Christ I declare:
By the grace of God, in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit I obey God’s Word!
Therefore all the blessings of obedience are my inheritance!
No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises against me shall be condemned (Is 54:17). All my enemies shall fall before me and be defeated! I will only observe with my eyes and see the punishment of the wicked! (Ps 91:8)
I walk in the light of the Cross, holding high the flag of victory! All glory to God!
In Jesus name
