DIVORCE ANGER!

MARRIAGE IS A GOOD THING (26)

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment” (Matt 5:21, 22).

Anger is a natural emotion. Men are angry when they feel threatened or afraid that they lose control. It is very easy to become angry. Just let your hormones take over your brain and your mouth. It is not easy to control anger. It is done with much prayer and deliverance. But it can be done!

God is angry with a righteous anger. He is our example. Jesus too was angry with the Pharisees who took God’s name on vain. But He was not angry when people insulted Him directly. He trusted God the Father for vindication.

“God is a just judge and God is angry with the wicked every day” (Ps 7:11)

God commands us to be angry like Him. We are to be angry with the devil and not with people. We are to hate sin.

The first time the word sin appears in the Bible is connected with sinful anger. Cain was angry and jealous against his brother Abel. God rebukes him but he refuses to repent. Anger is the very sin that stopped Moses to enter the Promised Land. God tells him to speak to the Rock and water will flow out for the thirsty people. But Moses got provoked with the rebellious and in anger he strikes the Rock. God gives water to them but later, He tells Moses that for that sin of uncontrolled anger, he will not enter the land of Canaan. Jezebel was so angry with Elijah that she was ready to God’s prophet. Many wars could have been prevented if the leaders could control their sinful anger. Many relationships could have endured if not for sinful anger and the bitter words that killed the hearts.

A good anger was displayed by Phineas when he killed the rebellious couple for the glory of Jehovah. God rewards him for that act with a covenant of peace (Nu 25). This is a difficult passage but the Holy Spirit will lead you into the truth.

This is a very practical question: When is anger sinful? When does the anger cross the line and becomes a tool for the devil? Anger has done much damage to relationships in general and to marriage in particular. Let’s study the Word of God!

Anger is sinful when it is uncontrolled by the Holy Spirit! Anger is sinful when it is:

*Too hot!

This type of passionate anger is called wrath. The passion is too much. The words spoken are too painful. Together with idolatry, witchcraft, adultery and selfish ambition these outbursts of wrath are a manifestation of the sinful flesh (Gal 5:19-21). Those who habitually practice these sins are not born again. The devil entered Cain because of unrepentant anger and so, he killed his brother.

When you sense another personality taking over your emotions and your mouth, when you say words that sound strange even to you, when you feel like fighting, when you wish another dead, then you have crossed the line. Stop it! Leave the scene! Pray in tongues for peace to come back to your soul!

*Too quick!

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (Jam 1:19, 20). Anger should not be your first choice to answer in a provocation. You should remain calm, praying in your spirit that God will give you a good word of peace with your enemy. The children of God are peacemakers and not quick tempered wild angry men. Anger lives inside fools.

“Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, for anger resides in the bosom of fools” (Ecc 7:9). The word ‘resides’ also means to settle down, to rest inside, to give comfort. Sinful anger is the tenant and the friend of a fool.

*Too long!

Be angry, and do not sin! Do not let the sun go down on your wrath nor give place to the devil” (Eph 4:26, 27)

This is such a simple advice: Do not go to sleep with your anger steal boiling. That will be the sleep of death. It will injure you and your marriage. God gives more than enough grace to settle disputes before 12 mid night. Be the first to say “I am sorry!” The earlier you apologies, the better! Marriage is a fragile gift, it is like glass! It can break into many pieces and no man can repair it! Do not just pretend that all is alright but as a criminal, your heart filled with silent bitter grudges and plans of vengeance. Settle with your enemy quickly if not it will be worse!

*Too often!

When anger becomes part of you, when it becomes your life style, then it is sinful. I know many wives who live in terror of their husbands. I know children whose only memories about their fathers is violence and intimidation. When you are known as a bully, when people avoid you because of your temper, then you have crossed the line. No matter the reasons for such anger, even if you think that you are justified in it, it is still sinful. People will avoid you. Punishment and destruction will be your portion.

“He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (PV 29:1)

IN CONCUSION:

“Make no friendship with an angry man,

And with a furious man do not go,

Lest you learn his ways

And set a snare for your soul” (PV 22:24, 25)

Jesus says that an angry man is a criminal at heart. Do not make friends with an unrepentant angry person! Do not marry a hot tempered man of a bitter woman! That is a snare of the devil! Anger is not a sign of strength but a serious weakness of character. I counsel young people who plan to marry and I hear this often: ‘he is a good man but he loses his temper sometimes…’ That is a signal to stop the plans and still pray. It is like you want to marry a tiger. Even if he is not hungry always, one day he cannot control his instinct and he will swallow you alive! Some tell me: “I like to speak out my feelings. After that I forget about it. My anger is hot but it does not stay long with me…” To shoot somebody you need just s second. After that, you will have a life time of regret. Words spoken in anger are like daggers. They wound and kill.

Take this advice from me: Just the way you cannot marry an adulterous person, do not marry a hot tempered one! Do I hear an ‘AMEN’?

In Christ I declare:

I repent of any sinful anger that was too hot, too quick; too long or practiced too often!

I divorce the demon of anger!

I separate myself from any unrepentant angry person!

I plead the Blood of Jesus over my angry spouse!

Let the Blood of Jesus speak peace into my marriage!

The Holy Spirit has taken control!

In Jesus name

Amen!

SANCTIFICATION PROJECT

MARRIAGE IS A GOOD THING (24)

“And “don’t sin by letting anger gain control over you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil” (Eph 4:26, 27)

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion in response to danger. Anger inspires powerful, often aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and to defend ourselves when we are attacked. A certain amount of anger, therefore, is necessary for our survival. For example, you need some anger to go to war, or to a race and win.

Anger should not be suppressed, for then it produces internal damage. Many sicknesses are related to unresolved emotional problems. Suppressed anger becomes bitterness and grudge.  These lead to high blood pressure and depression. Anger should then be expressed but not in a way of hurting others. This is a simple advice: always THINK before you speak!

Be slow to become angry and be slow to speak! Your reaction to provocation depends on the level of love you have for God and for men. For love is not easily provoked and does not intentionally hurt others. When you are angry, you feel ‘hot headed’. You sense the adrenaline rising inside you. Your very organs and your brain demand to have a voice to shout.

To remain calm under provocation is a sign of spiritual maturity. The devil wants to take control and push you to do things and say words you will surely regret. When anger controls a man, wicked lies start pouring forth. An angry man exaggerates his pain. For few minutes he will ‘shoot arrows’ to wound his enemy and to defend his territory. Nobody in his path is spared. An angry man is very dangerous. He is ready to kill another to survive. Anger is very selfish. It does not want to calm down, to go to rest, except with another round of battle. When anger gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems especially in your personal relationships. Many marriages have been destroyed by uncontrolled anger.

In marriage there will be many reasons to be provoked. For two people coming from different background to live together until they die, that is a very difficult thing to do. Often, ignorance and selfishness will rise and provoke the other. It is a battle of control over many things: the vision of the marriage, the training of the children or the finances. The devil waits for a chance to steal a piece of the show. Anger is his tool. Lies are his bait. He is an old fox and has won many battles. Please remember this: You cannot defeat the devil with natural means. You cannot keep anger under control by your human power. You need the greater power of the Holy Spirit to win this battle against the demons of anger and lies. Once you have that victory, your marriage will be a blessing to you, as God designed it to be. If not, it is more like hell on earth. Also, your spouse is not your real enemy. As believers, we do not fight against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness, evil forces of darkness trying to control the home. The battle is always against the invisible demons. Once you believe that and you get ready to defeat them, you shall enjoy your marriage. You need to study the Word of God and pray daily. There is no exception to this!

This is my testimony: I have learned over the years to control my anger when provoked by my husband, my children or other people. As an unbeliever I was not what you call a hot tempered woman. But occasionally, I could lose ‘my cool’ and say things that I will regret later. During provocations I will become bold and get ready to insult ‘my enemy’. I was always surprised at what I could say when angry. Normally I will not be so rude or harsh. When losing my temper I felt like wicked words were supplied to me even against my will. After I became saved, I made up my mind to control my anger. It was my personal ‘sanctification project’. I wanted to prove to my husband and to my children that it is worth it to be a born again person. I wanted them to see Christ in me, the hope of glory. In particular, I wanted God to be happy with me. I wanted God to use me as a sample of His grace, to boast about me to His enemies. Controlling anger has been a long and difficult road. But o…so worth it! I prayed that the Holy Spirit will embrace me, will immobilize me and will stop my tongue during provocation. He answered my prayer! Now, when I get angry, I suddenly feel weak and I am not able to respond with quarrels. My voice cannot rise. I try to think of angry words to say and I find none. I sense a supernatural peace inside me calming me down, reminding me that the battle belongs to the Lord! God’s manifested presence in me during provocation is my victory! Little by little, my husband and children have discovered that they shall not be rewarded with the memory of knowing ‘a crazy woman’ at home. They will not remember me full of anger and bitterness! They will remember me as a woman of God, a servant of the Prince of Peace!

To God be all the glory!

I encourage you to conquer the demon of anger and to save your marriage! By the power of the Holy Spirit, you can do it!

In Christ I declare:

I shall not let anger control me!

I uproot the devil out of my home!

My marriage is blessed!

My children are blessed!

In Jesus name

Amen!

MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER DOUBT

“Try to help those who argue against you. Be merciful to those who doubt” (Jude 1:22; TLB)

I come from a former Communist country. In school we were thought that God does not exist. The teachers told us that religion is a man’s invention to keep the poor people in bondage. They told us that there is no life after death. The best we can do is to work hard in this life and give some inheritance to our children. I believed that after death man disappears in a cosmic silence and nothingness. I did not believe in God or in the devil.

From time to time I dared to think that life is more than work, salary, marriage and children. I was a dreamer, a romantic at heart. I loved to read, anything like poetry, the biographies of famous men and true stories. I read many books. I loved country music. I played classical pieces on the piano. In school I was a perfectionist. I thought it was my duty to take first place in any exam or test that comes my way. I had no pity for losers. I felt very bad each time I failed any test. My parents were both teachers and of course, they were very proud of me.

The first time I had ‘an encounter’ with the word ‘God’ was in the first year of university. We were a group of friends and one day, we discussed what qualities each one desires in a life partner. Each one said something. I think I said that my future husband has to be intelligent and kind. Then Richmond Leigh, our Nigerian colleague said something so stupid that we all laughed with tears and made fun of him. He said: “I cannot marry a girl who does not believe in God…” God? What is God? I found myself looking at this young handsome man…he sounded so foolish…I pitied him and his parents in Africa. I made up my mind to help him be more ‘civilized’.

Richmond Leigh never repeated that sentence again. Few moths later he proposed to me. After many trials and temptations, against all odds, we got married. I did not want to remind him of his past foolishness. I was a little surprised that he proposed to a girl who clearly did not believe in God. I tried to forget his words about God. They made no sense anyway…But I could not uproot them from my heart. Like seeds coming from a strange tropical aromatic plant, they stayed in my heart for many years. I could not explain them. They just stayed there…

We were happy as two nice unbelievers can be. We finished Medical School and came back to Nigeria as a young couple with two little children in 1980. In 1986 I had a crisis conversion and became born again. Not long after that I became filled with the Holy Spirit. My life changed so much that my parents did not recognize me when I visited them. I was a new creation in Christ Jesus. I lost my all fears and my doubts. I did not look like a Romanian or like a Nigerian…I look like a peculiar person whose citizenship is in heaven. I became ‘foolish’ too, trusting God and praying to Him always! But this so called ‘foolishness’ became my protection and my strength.

Richmond and I, we are married now for more than 40 years. We are both pastors and in full time ministry in Warri, Nigeria. God had mercy on me for I acted in ignorance! Once the light shone, no one could stop it! I laughed at the words of God but I could not defeat them. Yes, God finally answered my husband’s wish to marry a woman who believes in God! This is my testimony…God’s ways are mysterious and they pass the human understanding!

“I never knew You will favor me this way…Thank You Jesus, Thank You my Lord” (Nigerian chorus)

Give your life to Christ! Become born again! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!

In Christ I declare:

I give all the glory to God for the salvation of my soul!

In Jesus name

Amen!

MY GOD DOES NOT SLEEP

One of my daughters in Christ sent me a message this morning. She was worshipping and giving thanks to God! This is her testimony:
She has been working on a major project in her office. Many other people were involved in it. They trusted and delegated her to send it in before July 1st. Every day she added new material to the research. Her job’s promotion depends on this project. But as time went by she lost touch with the dates on the calendar.

Yesterday she came back from office, did some house chores, watched a movie and later she went to her room. She turned off the lights and she went to sleep. She was thinking that she still has another day to send in her work. She forgot that tomorrow is July 1st. At exactly 11:45pm she suddenly jumped up from the sleep shaking. She looked at her clock. It read 30th of June. She ran to her computer speaking in tongues but for whatever reason, it refused to come on. She then quickly dressed up with a bed sheet and entered her car driving like mad. She went straight to the Fed Ex office that is not far from her house and is operating 24 hours. Her fingers shaking, she finally sent the material. It was 11:56pm. She collapsed of joy in the chair. If she waited few more minutes, the boss could have been very angry and she could have lost her job.
The devil tried its best but failed completely!

I don’t want to be a quiet ungrateful mother! Please join me in thanking God who takes care of my children, natural and spiritual, both here in Warri and all over the world! Praiseeee the Looooooooord!!!!

In Christ I declare the Word of God over my children:
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip- He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore” (Ps 121)
In Jesus name
Amen!

THE SAFETY OF PATIENCE

“Enthusiasm without knowledge is not good; impatience will get you into trouble”

“It is dangerous and sinful to rush into the unknown” (PV 19:2 GNT; TLB)

An ignorant man is an impatient man. Both ignorance and impatience are sins. Both are the work of demons.

A sinner is consumed by many desires. His soul longs for self-confidence, fame, wealth and for the pride of life. It has been said that superficial knowledge is very dangerous. If a man knows too little about a subject he will become proud and bossy. Most men are ignorant of their ignorance. It is also said that knowledge is power.

You say that you desire knowledge…what type of knowledge? In what field do you want knowledge? For the schools and their books in this world are many. “Much study wears the body” (Ecc 12: 12). There is a price to pay for deep knowledge. But you must choose the right field so the price is not wasted in useless adventures and weariness of soul.

The only knowledge truly worth living and dying for is the knowledge of God. If you know God, then you know everything. But you cannot attain that knowledge except God reveals Himself to you. He has already done that in the person of His Son. No man knows the Father except thru Jesus Christ. To know God is more than information. It is called eternal life (Jn 17:3). That is the knowledge you should desire!  Pay any price to seek that treasure! No other knowledge compares with it. The knowledge of any other field ‘puffs up’ and makes a man proud.

A proud man becomes restless with his social position in life. He wants to move on taking God for granted. He becomes impatient. He has little time to waste with weak people who need his help. He moves on fast like a car without brakes. “The man who thinks he knows something does not know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God” (1Cor 8:1-3). LOVE GOD!

An impatient man makes many mistakes. He is daring enough to go on ahead of the leading of the Holy Spirit, therefore grieving Him. His ambition drives him like mad. By his religious ignorant zeal he leads many into danger. An impatient man is rebellious especially against the doctrine of Christ. He is also rebellious against his pastor whom God has delegated to teach him. The work, the ministry of an ignorant and impatient man is called wicked. Godly patience is the mark of a born again believer. An impatient zealous man is a religious unbeliever. Do not be deceived! Do not become friends with such people! Do not extend an invitation for them to come and visit your home! Do not sponsor such an evil work of rebellion!  Do you know that you are responsible to God on behalf of your guests at home? Who are your friends? To whom you give encouragement, money and help?

There is safety in knowing God and patiently serving Him alone!

“Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God…If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work” (2Jn 9-11)

In Christ I declare:

I separate myself from any person who runs ahead of the leading of the Holy Spirit!

I reject the religious demons of ignorance and impatience!

I raise the standard of the Holy Spirit at the door of my house!

No one will visit me except approved by God!

I do not need many friends! I need godly friends!

I know God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent!

I have eternal life!

All glory to God!

In Jesus name

Amen!

A TENDER ROOT IN A DRY GROUND

“For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,

And as a root out of dry ground…

He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,

And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied” (Is 53)

What does it mean that our Savior was a tender plant growing in a dry ground? How Jesus did survive so much opposition? Why did He not die before His hour came? What is the secret of His holy success?

When Jesus was born everything was against Him. Herod the Great hated Him. He killed all the male children but Jesus escaped. Mary and Joseph were poor people. There was no other place for Mary to have her baby except the stable where animals stayed. There is no doubt that during her labor Mary experienced feelings of rejection and loneliness. No woman, however poor she is, wants to deliver her baby in a stable. I believe that it was also cold and she had to endure the unpleasant smell of animals. The pictures of Christmas may look romantic but the reality is different. Then they became fugitives in Egypt. Eventually, they come back and settle in Nazareth. Nathaniel said about that village: “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” The childhood of Jesus was in a place where nobody saw any good thing coming from it. Jesus did not go to a regular school He learned the trade of carpentry from his father, Joseph. It is true that He was from the royal lineage of David. That could have been something good, but Israel did not have a royal dynasty. It was the Romans that now chose their kings who had nothing to do with David. When Jesus entered ministry, the disciples that followed Him were poor un-educated people. The religious leaders hated Him and rejected His teachings. The religious leaders arrested Him and brought Him before their tribunal. Jesus did not have any lawyer. He did not even defend Himself. He did not write any book. He was a king but He did not have any army. He was eventually killed on the Cross. Humanity killed their Maker on Mount Calvary. He was buried in a rich borrowed tomb. The Roman soldiers guarded the burial place. That should have been the end of the story…

All these factors against Him describe to us the ‘dry ground’ of the life of Jesus. There was nothing in His environment that helped Jesus survive or succeed. There was no place where He could lay His head… There was no man who can take the credit of saving His life.  How then did this Jesus survive all the hatred and negativity against Him? Not only survive, but how did He succeed to become the most famous Man all over the world?  Why is His name on our lips, more than 2000 years later? Why so many people call Him their Savior? Why do so many people worship Him, in every city, every country? What is the secret of His Holy success? The answer is that He is God! He is Jehovah, I AM, the self-sufficient God, who does not need anything man has to offer to live eternally. If you are a child of God, think about your Father…

If you are ‘trapped’ in an unloving marriage and your spouse does not encourage you at all… if you are a missionary and, with all your labor of love you see no visible fruits… If you live in an area where churches are all lukewarm, you desire to mature spiritually but there is no mentor, no Spirit filled pastor…If you are alone and afraid or even hopeless, then go to Jesus Christ, the hope of Glory! Go to Jehovah, the self-sufficient God who does need His creation to live eternally! Go to the Holy Spirit who will give you the strength to live and succeed even if the whole world is against you! For no ground is as dry as the one that held the roots of the tender plant called Jesus Christ! Allow the Holy Spirit to enlarge your vision to see how that Lonely Seed planted in that dry ground, against all the odds and plans of the devil, became the King of the Kingdom of God! If you are born again then you are part of the lonely painful travail that has satisfied the Son of God! This is the work of God! If God has started a work in you, nobody can quench it! No circumstance, no enemy, no devil can destroy the work of God! Once the zeal of God is involved in a work, nothing can destroy it!

This is our testimony! This is the very faith that propelled my husband and I to have the boldness to start a church in Warri, Nigeria. The ground is dry but the seed is Holy! The faith in Jesus Christ proved to be enough for us!

Let us be encouraged to trust God when all things go against us. Like Jesus, we do not need anything to survive and succeed, only God! Jesus is enough for me! I am satisfied!

In Christ I declare:

Even if the spiritual atmosphere in Warri, Nigeria is as dry as a ‘bonga fish’, the Kingdom of God shall be established here! Many souls shall be saved!

Father’s House Bible Church is blessed!

All the glory to God!

In Jesus name,

Amen!

I AM WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Heb 13:8)

A sister told me a very sad story. She comes from a polygamous home. All she knew during her childhood was strife and occult spiritual war. She was 21 when armed robbers came to her parents’ house. She was alone in her room. She was raped at gun point. Her parents where in the next room but could do nothing to help her. None died during that attack.
More than 10 years have passed since then. She is now married to a good Christian who loves her and they have two beautiful children. She goes to church. She believes she is born again. But her childhood pain and especially the rape incident have left deep scars in her soul. I was surprised when she told me ‘Malia, I am not a special person’. She is very beautiful but she feels ugly. She is a graduate but she feels foolish. She told me that she made up her mind not to weep anymore. The last time she cried was more than a year ago. She is full of fears, that armed robbers may come and harm her family, especially children. She acknowledges that her husband is a good and generous man but she is not really happy in her marriage. For the past few years she could not convince herself to go and visit her parents. She says that she has not forgiven them for not helping her at the point of her deepest need. She knows that there was nothing they could do with criminals carrying guns, but still she holds them responsible for her shame.

She is now a very busy successful woman. Looking at her, nobody will believe she carries such pain. But face to face with me she opened up and she shared her pain. She struggled to remain calm but thank God for the Holy Spirit who set her free to weep. “There is a time to weep…” This time, there were not tears of bitterness or anger, but tears of relief that a burden can be shared with someone stronger than her who will not judge her past. She kept this secret hidden in her heart for too long. Her husband knew about it but she was afraid to tell anyone else.

Today we had a Holy Communion service. She was in my heart when I took the bread and the wine. May the Blood of Jesus heal the broken heart of this dear sister! May the Blood of Jesus create a bridge of forgiveness and reconciliation between parents and their daughter! May God grant salvation to her parents! May God bring peace in her marriage! May God’s destiny for her be fulfilled! May she become a woman of God who can minister comfort and encouragement to other souls in need!

I use her as a point of contact to speak life, healing, peace and joy to other rape victims who read this letter! God loves you! No man can save you! No man can help you at the point of your greatest need! That is the truth! Only Jesus can help! He came to die for you that you may be free from the condemnation of sin! Jesus Christ, the High Priest, intercedes for you right now in heaven! There is no new Jesus! There is no new Gospel! Jesus Christ is the same forever! In these changing times, during different seasons of life, when people come and people go, let this be your strength and comfort: Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever! Believe in God! Come to the Cross! The Blood of Jesus has power to save and to heal! God bless you all!

“Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow’r?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?”

Lastly, please pray for me that I continue to find favor with the many people who come to my office in their time of need! I need your prayers! Thank you!

In Christ I declare:
I am washed in the Blood of the Lamb!
I am fully trusting God’s grace this hour!
My Savior Jesus Christ is the same forever!
Jesus has saved my soul and has healed my body!
Jesus Christ intercedes for me right now!
My God is faithful!
All glory to the Lamb upon the throne!
In Jesus name
Amen!

GOD’S PROVISION IS MY PROTECTION (2)

“So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!”

And he said, “Here I am, my son.”

Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together” (Gen 22: 6-8)

Mount Moriah and Mount Calvary stand together as a wall around Jerusalem. Their destinies are connected. This story in Gen3sis 22 is a symbol of the Cross. Abraham stands for God the Father. Isaac stands for God the Son. In this chapter Isaac is not a small boy. His particular age is not given but he should be a man in his thirties. A boy cannot carry enough wood on his back to burn a human body. In the next chapter, when his mother Sarah dies at 127, he was 37 years old. Both Isaac and Jesus were born miraculously. Both Isaac and Jesus died in their thirties. God tells Abraham to leave Hebron city and to go towards Jerusalem, on the top of Mount Moriah. That was a three days journey. The events on Mount Moriah happen on the third day. Jesus rose from the grave on the third day. Abraham takes two servants. Not three or four, just two. He tells them to remain some distance away. They represent the two thieves crucified along with Jesus. But the last part of the journey is done by father and son alone. Salvation is of God alone. No man can take the credit. Abraham lays on Isaac’s back the wood for the burning sacrifice. The word ‘wood’ appears 5 times in this chapter. It stands for the burden of sin and death. Jesus carried his wooden cross to Mount Calvary. The same word ‘to lay on him’ appears in Is 53:6!

“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”

Both Isaac and Jesus were obedient unto death. They accepted the plan of their father even when it was very difficult. They were both persecuted by their brethren.

Isaac questions his father: “Where is the lamb?’ Abraham wisely answers: “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” He did not say ‘a lamb’ but ‘the lamb’. The ram found in the thicket was not a lamb.

The question “Where is the Lamb?’ was answered more than a 1000 years later; It is not any sacrifice, but a particular Lamb approved by God that could take away the sins of the world. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God was crucified on Mount Calvary. The first man to recognize the Lamb of God was John: “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn 1:29).

You have to use your imagination and see Isaac carrying away on his back the pile of wood that could have killed you. Do you know the Lamb of God? Has He taken away your sins? Are you free from the punishment and shame of sins? Do not look around at the circumstances. Look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith! You may have heard this invitation but the Word of God never changes! Come to Jesus and become a child of God!

God provided His Beloved Son as a sacrifice for my sins. His provision is my protection forever! I am saved to the uttermost. I shall not lose my salvation for it is too deep in my spirit to be removed. He that started a good thing in me shall perfect it until that wonderful day when we shall see face to face! Hallelujah!

“Forever You will be

The Lamb upon the throne

And I gladly bow my knees

To worship You alone!”

In Christ I declare:

I am born again!

I am free indeed!

In Jesus name

Amen!

GOD’S PROVISION IS MY PROTECTION (1)

Last week a brother in the church received threats from kidnappers to pay a huge amount of money in a particular account. They said that if he refused, they will harm him and his family. He was shaking with fear. The pastor advised that he should not to make any deals with the evil men. Thank God he obeyed. He reported the matter to the police. But there is no other protection greater than faith in the Word of God.

This evening there was a sweet and strong anointing in the service. The Lamb of God visited us. We all bowed at His feet. God loves Father’s House. God loves us. Then the message followed.

“As the mountains surround Jerusalem,

So the Lord surrounds His people

From this time forth and forever” (Ps 125:2)

This is a very pretty verse but what does it mean that the Lord surrounds His people like the mountains surround Jerusalem? Pray for a fresh revelation from the Holy Spirit! There are seven mountains that surround Jerusalem:

1-Mount Moriah (Provision)

2-Mount Calvary (The Cross)

3-Mount Bethsaida (Mercy)

4-Mount Scopus (Healing)

5-Mount of Olives (Anointing)

6-Mount Opel (Protection)

7-Mount Zion (Strength)

Today we shall take a trip to Jerusalem.  We shall climb two of the mountains that surround the city God loves more than any other on this earth (Ps 87:1-3). I am talking about Mount Moriah and Mount Calvary. This trip will give you a fresh revelation of the price and power of love. In Hebrew, the word ‘Moriah’ is a combination of two words translated as ‘Seen or Provided by Jehovah’. The word means to see, to be near, to experience, to have visions, prophecy, to enjoy, to perceive, to provide, to have respect (for my needs). It is closely connected with God’s name as Jehovah Jireh, God the Provider. This is a great revelation: God’s provision surrounds and protects me. If God has given you a gift, marriage, children, money, friends…these are not liabilities. You do not have to defend them. You do not have to fear that you shall lose them. They are a wall of grace and protection for you.

Genesis 22 is one of the most powerful Chapters in the Bible. Here we are introduced to a love story on top of Mount Moriah. Abraham is 130 years old man. God wants to test him. This means that we are never too old to be students of the Bible and to receive a test from our Heavenly Teacher. The test is about the purity of his worship. . It was a test of love, to prove that there is no idol in Abraham’s heart to compete with God. The greatest danger to become an idol was his son Isaac. God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” This is the first time that the word ‘love’ appears in the Bible. Love is connected with testing, sacrifice and death. It is the reason for the ram substitute, the redemption provided to save Isaac from death. “Love is as strong as death” (SS 8:6)

Who is your Isaac? Is it success, education, your job, your reputation, marriage, your children, a hobby, money, properties or your own selfish desires? You need to come to Mount Moriah and offer your love there. You also have to go to Mount Calvary to see what the Father provided for the atonement of our sins and many blessings added to salvation. Out Isaacs can take the place of God and can ruin our worship. On Mount Moriah I lose my Isaac. Jehovah Jireh is a jealous God. He is also called El Qanna. On Mount Calvary I gain my Lord. Christ is my reward. Come to the Mountain where God can be seen! Come to the mountain where God provides Himself to you! I am surrounded and totally protected by God’s revelation of His provision.

In Christ I declare:

Jehovah Jireh is my God!

God has provided a sacrifice for my sins!

Jehovah Jireh ‘has respect’ for my needs!

I have eternal life!

God’s provision is my protection!

No more fears!

I am saved by the Blood of the Lamb of God!

All glory to God!

In Jesus name

Amen!

LONG LIFE AND PROSPERITY

“Then the Lord said, “I will not allow people to live forever; they are mortal. From now on they will live no longer than 120 years.” (Gen 6:3, GN)

Adam and Eve could have lived forever. But sin brought death with it. After the fall men lived hundreds of years.  With sin reigning in man’s flesh, God made a new decree and limited the number of years man can live on earth. God said that it will be maximum 120 years. That is all they have to repent of their sins. Even after God’s decree, Abraham lived 135 years, to prove the grace of God on his life. Jacob was asked by Pharaoh: “How old are you?” He was embarrassed to say that he is (only!) 130 years old for his ancestors lived much longer than him. Moses lived 120 years.  Even at that age his eyesight wasn’t impaired and he was still vigorous and strong. These are just few examples of what we call ‘a long life well spent’. Why limit God’s plan for your life?

This is a question: How many people do you know who live above 100 years? Do you know that three quarters of all untimely deaths are preventable and life style related? This is the conclusion of medical science. We do well to pay attention to this information. Doctors say that you have to make a change in your life style if you want to live long. When you are young you do not feel the need to do that. But as the body ages you have to become wiser taking care of your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

If you want to live long, this is the medical advice:

*Do not smoke cigars or take illegal drugs

*Do not drink alcohol

*Do not be overweight

*Reduce salt in the food

*Keep your Blood pressure under control

*Exercise your body and your mind

*Do not over-work. Rest and enjoy your life

Of course, as believers, we add this:

*Give your life to Christ! Be born again!

*Attend a good living church!

*Read your Bible daily. Memorize the Word of God. Apply (obey) the Word of God in daily living!

*Pray daily!

*Rejoice always!

*Repent of any known sin so that your conscience is at peace!

*Serve God in any ministry!

*Be a blessing to many!

*Marry well!

I wish you all long life and prosperity!

In Jesus name

Amen!

NO MORE FEARS

“Whoever listens to Me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm” (PV 1:33)

Do you want to be delivered from all fears? It is possible, you know…

I do not have to fight my enemies. I do not have to be worried about the plans of the wicked. My duty as a child of God is to ‘listen’ to my Father. The word means to hear intelligently, to understand what the Bible is saying with the clear intent to obey its commands. My attitude is that of a student and a son (daughter). I want to please my Father in heaven. I want to know God better. It gives me pleasure to read and meditate upon the commands of God, so that I can obey them. I want to be known as an obedient teachable child. I want to be known as a wise child who builds his life on the Rock. I want to be known as a student of the Bible. I want to see how my life will change as I obey God’s Word. This is my ambition in life.

This is God’s promise:

If I really obey God’s Word (not just pretend to do it) then I shall be free from all fears! My obedience to the Bible will destroy the fear of trouble, harm, evil, witchcraft, kidnapping and untimely death. I do not need a personal prophet, mobile police, a medical doctor, a banker, a lawyer or a politician to feel safe in this world. All I need is God, faith in Him and obedience to His Word. The older I get, the more I love obeying God. I now experience a higher level of peace, joy and rest in my soul, like never before. I still remember the past with its crazy fears and many insecurities, questions without answers…what do people say…what if the laugh at me…what if a witch places a spell on me and I get sick… what if I get poor and end up on the streets…what…what?

But now is different. I do not have to pretend for the real peace has come.

My advice to you is this: go back to the Bible like you have never read it before. Do not read the Bible casually. Do not read it to impress your spouse. Read it for yourself; slowly and with faith. Imagine that your Father in heaven speaks to you thru its pages. It is a letter of love. Any time the Holy Spirit brings to your attention the need to obey, pray for strength and just do it. Do not delay obedience! It does not matter the price. The reward is by far greater than the sacrifice. Then you enter the exclusive club of them that believe! You shall be bold like a lion, confident and sure of your identity! You shall know the security of the believer and the glorious eternal future in Christ. That is your inheritance! This is God’s promise to His obedient Children and God can never lie!

WITH ALL MY HEART

“This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29)

Not too long ago I met a Christian brother. I reminded him that he owes me a testimony. That he should pay his spiritual debt to me. Last year I gave him a prophetic word that God will help him to build his own house in Warri. He said Amen! One year later, I was expecting some manifestation of that word. At least a stone upon another…Then he said that not much has been done to come back with a testimony. He bought a piece of land but then he stopped. He told me that he got a surprising supernatural increase in finances. Then he got a promotion in his job to work in another bigger city. His family is still in Warri.

He said that all his new colleagues over there in the big city discouraged him to go back and build a house in Warri; that Warri is a village… that Warri is a waste of time… Their voices were so strong that he could not go ahead and build in Warri. He could not confront them and he kept quiet. He could not tell them about the prophetic word. They could have insulted him the more. From time to time his conscience worried him about the past prophetic word. He suddenly got ‘stuck’. He said that is why he could not move right or left. Doubt attacked the word spoken. He became weak and discouraged to do anything at all. He told me that he wanted to start the building in January because this is the year of the Limitless God. But he could not do anything even will all the money in the bank. This is a very intelligent, hard working and creative brother, but his spirit was quenched and his body became weak.

I reminded him of our conversation last year and the prophetic word spoken then. Immediately the light of God shone on his face. I could see his eyes sparkle with a new hope, a new courage and faith to obey. As a doctor I saw life coming back in someone who has fainted. The very color of the lips changes…It is the same spiritually!

This time he said that he is ready. He promised that next time we see he shall not be ashamed at his backsliding lukewarm cowardly attitude but he will have a good report to share with me. I left him encouraged! I too was encouraged!

This is a lesson for all: if God has spoken a word to you, thru the Bible or thru His prophets, do not be slow to obey it. The word may sound foolish, but God knows all the factors and He knows what is best for you. It does not matter how big a city or a country is! It does not matter how beautiful that woman is! It does not matter how big that church is! You walk by faith and not by sight! The only thing that matters is to trust and obey God. He will provide all that you need, guidance, favor with strangers, money and resources, peace and joy in the heart, and the shining testimony that He is your God! What else do you want? Be content with the plan and purpose of God for nothing is better than that!

As for me, I wait for you to come back with many testimonies of God’s grace power and might!

Yes, after reading this letter, you owe me a testimony of encouragement that Jesus is your Lord!

For nothing is impossible to him who believes!

TRAVEL DIARY 10

“He (Jesus) was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (the power) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:10-13)

This is the last page in my diary concerning our recent travelling abroad. We came back to Lagos last night. In the airport there was unnecessary delay, asking useless questions, officials begging for money…sad…sad…sad…

Outside the arrivals, they did not allow the taxis to come close. We had to roll our load quite a distance. We saw a free passage to the right of the airport. Loaded with our suitcases, we tried to take that path. Suddenly two soldiers, a man and a woman, came with guns to stop us. They said that we cannot go there, for that path is only for ‘diplomats’. In my heart I quickly said a prayer. I reminded myself that we are the ambassadors of Christ. Immediately, without any explanation, the woman soldier changed her mind and allowed us to pass. In passing I told her: “God bless you, madam!” She answered me: “Na God bless you I de chop?” (translated it means, ‘God bless you is too small for me; this greeting does not feed me; I need some money’). I did like I do not understand what she meant.and moved on. This is so sad, when someone chooses money in place of God’s blessings…She could have been happier with 500 naira, maybe; that is about $4. I was sorry for her husband or children if she had those…

As royal priests we are to bless people in the name of the Lord. The simple answer to such a royal greeting is “Amen!” That means you have received the blessing of God! This greeting is life to the spirit! It shall manifest for good, one way or another. No amount of money can buy the grace of God. Rejecting God’s Word of blessing is foolishness to say the least.

This particular journey has ended. Another will start soon…
I wanted to close these letters on a better note. But this is not fiction and I cannot invent the characters of the story. I wrote it in my diary as I saw it, thru the eyes of Christ. This painful re-entry in Nigeria reminds me that Christ came for needy sinners. The travelling was a good time to rest and be refreshed. But there is no need of romantic dreaming outside the reality of this life. I am also reminded that the evil spirit of religion has done great harm to many people. Especially in Nigeria. So, coming down from the mountain of transfiguration with its glimpses of glory and grace, there is work to do down in the valley. We have placed our hands on the plow! We cannot look back…Nothing shall discourage us! For as long as Jesus is Lord, ministry done in the power of the Holy Spirit shall be successful!. We declare the Lordship of Jesus Christ over Nigeria! If the devil likes it or not, many souls shall be saved in this beautiful but hurting land.
So, Nigeria, Warri, here I come…
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Love in Christ alone
Malia.

THE RAINBOW

TRAVEL DIARY 9

“He (The Holy Spirit) will tell you what is yet to come…” (Jn 16:13)

No man knows the future. Only God, and He will not tell anyone, except to His children. The Holy Spirit gives us glimpses of the hope ahead. These are like light posts to guide us in the way. We do not have to know everything, but seeing the lights, like a pilot landing in darkness, we find the path ahead.

Let me be more practical. Going to Istanbul and back to Lagos, the weather was rough. Both flights had to pass thru serious periods of turbulence. A woman was praying in tongues loudly. Many anxious sounds were heard all over. But we kept calm with a supernatural peace. Why was it so?

The first thing I can say is that we trusted in God! Not in the pilot or any man, but it God. Secondly, we trusted in a prophetic word we received in the morning. The Holy Spirit revealed to us something we shall do at the end of February 2016. We have already said amen to that word. It simply follows that we can’t die before then.  This is a simple lesson we had to apply today. We rejected the evil spirit of fear! All the rough weather in the sky could not shake us for God is not the author of confusion.

Has the Holy Spirit given you a glimpse of things to come? Then He that showed you a little of your future is in control today! Any challenge you may face now is temporary! Learn to say: ‘This came to pass…” Have peace! Start rejoicing that you are a child of God! Praise God for the privilege of seeing the light shining in darkness, of knowing what to do even when all things seem hopeless!

Trust God!!!

As we finally landed, another surprise… the background music on Turkish airlines was this: “Do something new in my life, something new in my life…O, Lord!”

(can you believe that? God is wonderful…)

We came to the end of this journey and already God is planning a new wonderful thing for us…I love this God, there is no other like Him!

May God restore your ‘wounded’ peace and your ‘scattered’ joy! At the end of the storm the rainbow sends greetings…be strong in The Lord and in the power of His might! In Jesus name, Amen!

ASLAN

TRAVEL DIARY 8

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (Jn 13:34, 35)

The last time we came to Istanbul, we met a wonderful young man. He was an engineering student here in Istanbul but working part time as a receptionist at the hotel where we stayed. He went out of his way to make us happy. He upgraded our room without us asking for such a favor. When leaving, we gave him a gift of money. He was so surprised and asked us why. We said that he can be our son in the university. That he can use the money freely and happily. His name is Aslan.
We prayed that he may see the love of Jesus in our gift.

Yesterday we came at the same hotel. The new receptionist is his friend. He said that Aslan told him that any time we come he should inform him. Later in the day, whole we went out, Aslan came all the way from the university campus and he dropped a box of Turkish sweets and a ‘thank you’ note inside.
This is what the note said (I did not edit his English so that the sweet fragrance of it may come to you):

“Hello!
I was working here when you came this hotel first time. I quit this job but I talked about you to the new receptionist who is my friend. And he said to me you came again. You gave me a gift when you are leaving. Cause I am a student. It affects me so much and I want to thank you with this Turkish delight (I am sure they are not as sweet as much as you :)) Because you showed me being a good people independent of religion, race and nationality…Hope see you again, Mr and Mrs Leigh (two beautiful hearts)
Aslan”

May God bless Aslan with the blessings and the saving revelation of Jesus Christ!
In Jesus name
Amen!

THE BREAD OF LIFE

TRAVEL DIARY 7

“When they had all had enough to eat, He (Jesus) said to His disciples: Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted. So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets…” (Jn 6:12, 13)

During this trip we eat more than the usual amount of food. We may have an excuse for it was a Holiday. In the cruise ship there is buffet 24 hours. Much food is wasted and given to the fishes in the sea. The sea gulls follow the ship too for crumbs of food.

Jesus fed thousands with only few loaves of bread and fish. He told the people to sit down and eat. Then the crowds left. Why did Jesus told the disciples that the bread left on the grass should be gathered and kept? A simple answer is that Jesus does not want us to be wasteful in general and with our food in particular. This is the command of the Provider…Even if it was a miracle, we shall give an account of what was used and also of what was not used for the needs of that day.

God’s blessings and gifts are much more abundant and greater than our needs. For example, you are sick with malaria. You pray for healing and then the fever goes away. With that healing, other blessings follow: financial, spiritual, more peace, more joy…At last, you feel so good, so grateful, but often you don’t know what to do with the extra grace. Do not be passive in the mist of that overflow! Worship the Generous Loving Extravagant Provider God! Jesus says to be careful to acknowledge the work of Jehovah Jireh…to thank Him for the generous supply that came right in time, as an answer to prayer for your limited need…the supply is given according to God’s riches of His glorious grace in Christ Jesus….you are to preserve the extra blessings for a later need….You need to be prudent with the grace of God! You shall give an account for the way you invested it!

Have you thought of that?

Many squander and abandon the gifts supplied by God for past needs… Later, they pray for a miracle but there is no answer from God for the overflow is still in their savings account. Past blessings are to be used for later needs!!!

From the overflow of so many lessons from my past I had to use and re-use the same Word of God, again and again, not one letter was wasted. The Syrian woman was ready to die for crumbs of mercy, for her daughter’s healing…these are broken pieces of bread, crumbs of life… the dogs play with them under the table of carelessness….this is waste and laziness and sin, to leave food on your plate and grace unused stagnant in your spirit…

“Dear Father God, forgive me for wasting much grace in the past. Please help me to gather the extra blessings I may not need today, for future needs I know nothing about, so that I should never be anxious for tomorrow, knowing that You are more than enough for me, in all situations of life, present and the future. Help me to see how great You are! Help me to be a good steward of your gifts, grace and blessings given for past needs. Help me to be wise and to re-invest them in future challenges…In Jesus name, Amen”

OYA! KEEP MOVING!

TRAVEL DIARY 6

“Get up; go away! For this is not your resting place yet…” (Micah 2:10)

One of the most difficult things to do is to keep walking until you reach your destination. We easily find excuses to sit down. Every nice bench will do for tired bones. Even the floor looks inviting…

This hotel room looks better than my own back home. The bathroom is marble and the door is made of mirror. So why leave and go? Because it is not mine! I have not reached my resting place. I am a pilgrim in this world. This place is good but the future planned by God for me is much better. So I learn to enjoy this moment …and then let it pass…for the promise of hope to have a chance and a space to manifest.

If God has given you a promise of a better future… if you are praying but the things are still not taking shape…if things distract you along the way, even then…still keep moving… until you cross the finishing line, until you reach your resting place.

A happy marriage is one of the resting places on this earth, no doubt about it…this is the word: if you are ‘unhappily’ married, keep praying, do not settle for less, the hotel is not your house and the hotel maid is not your wife…if you are not married, then move on with fasting and prayer until your life partner shall manifest…you shall not fall in love with a stranger, with a hotel greeter…your own is your own…

I encourage you to press on and fulfill your destiny in Christ, for all God’s children are special and their peace and joy is assured!

Get up now and keep moving…I am looking behind to see you coming… Do not disappoint me…soon, you shall see us moving ahead..

OYA! Keep moving…the best is yet to come!

(the word ‘Oya’ in Nigerian slang means “Let’s go!)

THE DIAMOND RING

TRAVEL DIARY 5

‘Love is patient’ (1 Cor 13:4)

This trip is wonderful. My dear husband surprised me today. After 40 years of happy fruitful marriage, he bought me a diamond engagement ring. The truth is that when we got married we were both students and could not afford one. He promised me that one day, ‘when we have money’ he will buy one. After so many years, I forgot about it. We have gone in and out many gold shops and we never discussed that matter again.
That is why I was so surprised today…we went on this street, an ordinary street, and we entered this shop of ‘gold and diamonds’. He then said I should chose an engagement ring. I was surprised and a little embarrassed for I was not sure if he is joking or not. But he was serious…I prayed a quick prayer that the Holy Spirit should guide me…I did not know what is the latest fashion in engagement rings…then I saw this one, simple and perfect to my eyes, the ring was smiling, that is how I saw it…and I said: ‘This one I like…’ In less than 5 minutes it was mine, together with a certificate of value and the rest…My heart felt young…the promise given 40 years ago was fulfilled faster than I thought…the waiting was long but the manifestation was quick.
Right now, on my 60 years old wrinkled finger, shine the diamonds…today I laughed like Sarah of old…share in my happiness, please…

I encourage you to be patient to the end…There is a day and an hour when the promises of youth become real…be patient…the end of the matter is better than the beginning…trust me, I know…

ANCIENT WORDS

TRAVEL DIARY 4

“For where two or three come together in My name there I am with them” (Mt 18:20)

We arrived at Hamburg airport this evening. There was a waiting line for the taxi outside. One very active driver already carried some of our luggage inside his car. But the six of us wanted to be together. Then out of nowhere a bigger van came and the new driver told the other that he will take care of all of us. He was ‘a black man’. We were already happy now feeling like home…
Immediately we entered, he put on the music. We could not believe our ears. This is what came from the sound system: ‘Ancient words, ever true, changing me and changing you, we have come with open hearts, let the ancient words impart…Your loving kindness is better than life…my lips shall praise You…’ This was a wonderful surprise for it is very rare to hear Christian music in a taxi in Europe.

Then we started talking…the taxi driver was a born again child of God. His name is Ferdinand. He lives in Hamburg for the past 23 years. He is from Cameroon. Life was difficult here and this is how he gave his life to Christ.
O…the wonderful gift to be welcomed by a blessed brother, coming in the name of The Lord…Before the journey we have prayed that our steps shall be guided by The Lord. It is not only buildings we came to see, but, like the rose of the desert, the fragrance of Christ was found in the most unexpected places.I can’t explain the joy we all felt knowing that Jesus was with us in the taxi and that all we shall experience in this trip is a gift from His gracious hand.

Loneliness is a bad thing. No believer should feel lonely for too long… We do not know everything and everybody, but we know the One who knows it all…Let me tell you this, there is no ‘travel agent’ like the Holy Spirit…Yes, this is a good feeling to know I am a child of the Most High God!
May you never take for granted the ancient Words of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit…Your God goes before you to make the crooked unfamiliar roads straight, to prepare the place in advance, to drive away the enemies, to give you favor with all men and many tokens of His sweet presence along the way…life becomes easy and sweet…

I feel like royalty right now…come and join ‘the Club of the ambassadors for Christ’… It is not just 5 stars, forget the way men count them…it is the Kingdom of God made of limitless stars for they are all safe in His hands…
I am filled with the Spirit right now…don’t blame me that I am so happy…and don’t just stay there and grumble or be jealous…no need for that…You can be happy too…Come to Jesus! Come to the Bible! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!
The journey continues…

THE COMFORT ROOM

TRAVEL DIARY 3

“The Father will give you another Comforter to be with you forever, the Spirit of Truth…” (Jn 14:16, 17)

We arrived at Istanbul airport today. The whole place was very busy, no place to seat down, no place to eat. We had to wait four hours. We did not know what to do or where to go. We were tired and hungry. Then we remembered that there is a place to rest in the upper area of the airport. We went there, and to our surprise, they welcomed us like home. For a small amount of money, we could seat down, lie down and sleep, eat, use their free Internet and even take a shower. All was included in the price. This was like an oasis in the desert. The name of the place was “The Comfort Room”.

We often forget that God has prepared everything for the journey of life, that we are not alone, we are not orphans. We suffer and weep and complain that things are too difficult in life. We say we trust God but the truth is that we do not. We trust ourselves, in our strength and wisdom. Life can be so much easier if we can find the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth who sets free, who gives rest to the soul and body. The Holy Spirit is the One who guides us, who over-rules our mistakes, who walks alongside us, every moment, to encourage and to give peace. As a child of God, the Holy Spirit is with you always. You are not alone. Therefore you do not have to feel alone! You do not have to feel poor, ugly or rejected! Come to the Upper Comfort Room where saints rest and become refreshed. Jesus has paid the bill for your peace! Just a drop of liquid joy is stronger than depression and all fears!
When the strange crowd pushes you here and there, and like Noah’s dove you find no rest for your feet, then run back to the Ark, run back to Jesus! There is no other place I know to redirect your tired bones. In a foreign land, I have tested of His eternal Comfort today… Have peace!
